Happy Tuesday y'all!!
(I've been writing 'Texas' for too long!)

I've got a couple of things for you today so let's dig in.

First, see that Penned Con Nominee button in the top left corner?? Yep, that's right I'm a NOMINEE!!

Second, I've been asked a few times if 'All That Remains' is the last book in the From The Wreckage series and I can now tell you NO, IT IS NOT.


Happy tears, right? So here's the dealio:

From The Wreckage, Out of Ruins and All That Remains are Jules and West's story.
Wreckage #4 AND #5 will be spin-off stories featuring characters and stories from the first three but I can't tell you who right now (it would be spoilerish).
The good part is Jules and West will be featured a lot in one of the spin-offs, if not both. You will get to see what's going on with their lives after All That Remains. YAY!!

The bit of bad news, if you see it that way, is these new books will have to wait until 2015. I have a commitment to finish out my fantasy series (Never Without You) and give my Last Call readers their second book (a steamier Gage POV!!) before I do anything else.

I have a feeling I will be writing multiple books at one time because I'm having a hard time shutting these characters down at night, let alone for three or four months!

I do want to make it clear that All That Remains will have an ending! It is NOT a cliffhanger. There may be loose ends pertaining to other story lines, but you will get a definite finish to Jules and West's story. For now ;) 

Now onto the TEASE!! or should I say TEASES

Now for All That Remains...and sorry for the vagueness in this passage but what can I say? I can't give things away ;)


Sitting on the edge, he explains himself, “Jeff and I came over at the same time. Katie said you’d just closed your eyes and she let me in. I figured I’d sneak up behind you and wake you but once I laid down beside you-” He shrugs, his cheeks turning pink. “I didn’t have the heart to bother you. You looked so peaceful. I should have left, but damn it was comfortable and you smell really good.”
She tries not to laugh, but his compliment makes her giggle. His answer is so endearing and completely understandable. She taps the bed and scoots over meaningfully.
“I’m sorry I yelled at you.” She offers once he’s laying beside her. He lays on his back his head turned towards her as she lays on her side facing him. She moves slightly, her head touching his shoulder, and wraps her arm around his and hugs it to her chest lightly.
“Jules?”
“Let’s get a little more sleep and then we can have that breakfast you wanted, kay?” she asks, trying to ignore the plea in his voice when he said her name.
“I’m going to need you to make a decision. Soon. I can’t keep doing this.”
She closes her eyes, feeling ten kinds of horrible for not being able to give him an answer.
“I know. I’ll figure it out, I promise,” she offers and closes her eyes, praying she’ll be able to make good on that promise.

I'm in the midst of finishing up 'All That Remains' so this will be short...
Get a glimpse at Austin Rutledge, the middle brother in the clan.

AND A TEASE:


“Do you give up?”
He laughs at her confusion, and she wants to say no but she’s clueless. “Obviously!”
“I’m an engineering major.” Her brows rise in surprise. “I’ve impressed you, I see.”
“I have to admit you have. That’s very impressive…for a dumb jock.”
A peanut shell smacks her in the forehead, and she howls as Austin breaks into laughter. Austin tells Jules about his classes as they eat. The more he talks, the more impressed she is. He isn’t just another dumb jock and though he certainly has the talent to make it in the NFL he confides in her that he is questioning the choice.
“Football is all I’ve ever known. My parents have shots of my naked butt laying across a pigskin from day one. I can show you a million and one pictures from childhood and the majority will be football. Playing the game, at a game, watching a game. I love it, don’t get me wrong, but I get a different feeling when I build something.”

My Opening Lines!

in literature and it made me think. 

"What are my opening lines, again?"
You'd think I would remember them all, but alas, I did not!
So for fun I pulled them. Now, a few of the books have prologues so I didn't use those lines. 
I used the Chapter One lines.

Tuesday Tease - All That Remains

Happy Tuesday y'all! Have you seen the cover for All That Remains yet??

And all three together! I am so in love with these.

I wanted to let y'all know that I will not have All That Remains (ATR) up for pre-order most likely because I'm on a super tight schedule with getting it finished. So the plan is for it to go live on all platforms August 28th. If I change that and get pre-order set up you'll be the first to know!

ATR is a little different then FTW and OOR. It is told from the dual prospective of Jules and West. YES! West gets to talk!!

West POV - 


“All right. Tell me the story. Why Jules Rutledge?”
Why, indeed! he ponders, sinking down into the chair and stretching his legs out. “I saw her standing there that night and I fell for her. It was instant. I was gone before I opened my mouth. I’d known her most of my life;.I’d watched her, knew she was with another guy even… but that night when she sat at that table and I looked up… it was over for me.”
“You fell for her before the tornado hit?”
“Yeah. In all honesty, I fell for her in the seventh grade. Maybe even before that. But when I kissed her that first time, I turned into a dumb pre-teen boy with a major hard-on and I had no idea what to do. Then my mom took a turn for the worse, and I dropped everything. Like we discussed.”
“And five years later you’re finally sitting across from the girl you fell for once and what?” She prods lightly.
Reminiscing the last year has been a favorite, and most hated, past time of his. So many things with Jules were perfect and worth the memories, and then there are the things he’d rather forget; (intentionally removing a sentence here for spoilers)
“And I gave her crap and fell in love.” He smiles.
“You saved her life.” Dr. Steel points out unnecessarily.
“And she saved mine.”
