2015 Reading Challenge update

It's been a LONG while since I've updated y'all on my reading challenge. Let me get you up to date.

I've completed 35 books so far this year. There are a few re-reads in there and a few re-reads I didn't log.  So, what am I reading?

The majority of my books this year have been contemporary - 20
I've lost myself in 4 fantasy novels (fae and magical Kingdoms), 8 sci-fi/dystopian/pn type stories and 3 historical.
21 of the books I've read fit into my 2015 Challenge. A few more might fit later in the year when I start running out of time *Gah!* Here's the list so far...

You can find all my books on Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/chelemybelles/2015-reading-challenge/

Here are all of the gorgeous covers from my reads...

As an author I don't review books, but I can highlight a few of my reads for you.
1) Burying Water by KA Tucker - you can never go wrong with Tucker. Love her books.
2) The Player series (The Substitute and The Player) by Denise Grover Swank will make you laugh.
3) Two books I was pleasantly surprised with were The Orphan Queen (Jodi Meadows) and Parallel (Lauren Miller). I hadn't read these ladies yet and I loved these books!
4) Book boyfriend of the year thus far? Probably Jesse from Burying Water.
5) Kai is the male lead in two of the series I read - Faylinn series by Mindy Hayes and Cinder by Marissa Meyer.

So there you go. My reads, so far. What are reading? What have you been reading? What is one book you would totally recommend me to read??

2015 Reading Challenge - Week Nine

I'm soooo behind on my reading y'all! What are you reading? Let me live vicariously through you and update me.

Week Nine Update

Finished Reading

I finished Hero by Samantha Young (NA Romance/suspense) in the wee hours of the night. It's not  a specific book on the challenge, just a read. I love Samantha, her accent rocks (she's from Scotland!) and she is super sweet and talented. Hero is a sexy little book filled with humor and thrills. My favorite part of this story is it's not just an office romance and sex - there's meat in this romp. If you like a story with your steam, give Hero a try. Remember this is 18+

Currently Reading/ Up Next

I'm working on edits for Into The Fire right now and I'm behind schedule on writing so I have no idea when or what I will read next. I've always been one to read before bed, even if it's only a few pages, but lately I'm falling into bed exhausted.
I have a few sequels I'm DYING to read here in the next few weeks so hopefully I can get to those soon. I also need to get back to the challenge list.

I'm supposed to read The Best of Me by Nicolas Sparks as my movie/book tie in with someone! Who is it?? It's been a few weeks since we talked, we need to do that! Anyone want to join us on that one?

All the words must be had... an update.

Just an update to let y'all know I'm hard at work writing, writing, writing Into The Fire. This book doesn't want to end. It's been an amazing journey working on Dani's story. I've laughed, cried and sometimes I scream, but I so love her story.

2015 Reading Challenge - Week Five

m o u n t a i n s a n d m o r e . c o m.jpg

I didn't update last week due to my hectic schedule! I'm trying to finish up the book that never ends. So I haven't been reading very much over the last two weeks. :(

Week Five Update...

Finished Reading

Book with one word title - Inspire by Cora Carmack NA Fantasy Romance - enjoyed this one. It has a cliffhanger ending and is way steamier than Cora's other endeavors thus far. Fans of mythology will like this one.

Currently Reading

I've been Alpha reading Mindy Hayes next Romance 'Me Without You' and will finish that up this weekend. Alpha reading, for those of you who don't know, is critique reading where you help an author find plot issues, character development issues, etc.. It's something many authors do with what we call our CPs (Critique Partners). We get to be brutally, but nicely, honest to help our friends write the best book they can.

Up Next...

I received two pre-ordered books this week: Hero by Samantha Young and Verum by Courtney Cole so I may try to work those into my challenge. I'm dying to read Verum - book one Nocte was AMAZING.
I'm also still working diligently on Into The Fire so I may not get much of anything read. I'm still ahead of my challenge though!
